Please consider joining the Roosevelt Social Club for an upgrade to reserved seating at our three annual live music social events as well as admission for two people to our annual member-only events in May and at least one other event a year.

In January of 2012, the first Roosevelt Rowing Regatta was held on the Hillsborough River in front of the old Tampa Bay Hotel's Plant Park. It was a fashionable outdoor event where folks in fine attire celebrated the of achievements of athletes competing in a sport that has endured the test of time.

This new club and its schedule of activities embraces the same qualities achieved during those past regattas. 

 

Why Roosevelt? Our nation's 25th President, Theodore Roosevelt, was on the rowing crew at Harvard.  He also helped put Tampa on the map when he visited before disembarking for the Spanish-American War in Cuba in 1898 where the famous San Juan Hill battle took place.

 

Why associate him with live music social events?  He was a skilled pianist and supporter of American classical music. While in the White House, he hosted eight musicals per year, each with over 300 attendees, and even composed his own pieces.

For our travel events, the club will make transportation suggestions as well as lodging and some dining reservations, however, members are welcome to make their own plans to travel to our events, where to stay and where to dine, if they like.  There will certainly be time for members to explore on their own.
